Summary

Oxford Lifelong Learning in the Department for Continuing Education is seeking to appoint an Assistant Course Manager for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Short Courses, which is housed in the Department’s Professional and Open Access Courses section.

The CPD Portfolio provides short open enrolment and bespoke courses that are designed to provide high-level training and professional upskilling for individuals across a range of companies, for professionals in organisations, for government departments, and for research and academic institutions.

About the role
You will be responsible for supervising a portfolio of short courses covering subjects including Business & Management, Technology & Al, and Vaccinology (which may be subject to change from time-to-time). You will oversee the student lifecycle on these courses from end-to-end, providing guidance and support to a team of five senior course administrators.

We work with academic and industry experts from across the University and beyond to deliver programmes to professional learners from around the world. Courses are delivered in a mixture of face-to-face, online and hybrid formats.

You will be expected to work throughout the academic year and to facilitate some courses, including occasional weekends. During the year, you will liaise with course directors, tutors and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of each programme.

This is a full-time position, available on a permanent contract.

About you
You will have significant experience of administration relating to the delivery of short courses and/or residential events (e.g., conferences, courses, training programmes), with excellent organisational and time management skills, accuracy and attention to detail, and an ability to work effectively with a significant degree of autonomy, balancing competing priorities across a range of simultaneously-delivered courses. You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills and experience of successfully supervising or co-ordinating staff. Experience of financial arrangements, such as preparing course budgets, is also essential. You must be competent in a range of Microsoft Office applications, and be willing to use technology to the full to reduce administrative processes.
