What the school offers its staff
Silverwood School is an inspirational and forward-thinking special school based in the heart of Wiltshire. We support pupils aged 4–19 with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
At Silverwood, our EYFS team is at the start of something extraordinary. From the first day of school our dedicated staff guide our SEND pupils through life’s earliest and most important discoveries—with care, creativity and boundless empathy.
We are seeking a committed and creative EYFS Teacher to join our Early Years team, starting 2nd June 2026. Whether you’re an experienced teacher looking for your next challenge or an ECT ready to begin a career in SEN, this is a role where you’ll shape lives—and grow your own career in a supportive, purpose-driven team. This permanent role will be based at our Rowde campus, offering a safe, inspiring environment tailored to the needs of our youngest learners.
Working here isn’t always easy—but it is deeply rewarding.
“Silverwood has a real sense of community and we are forever evolving and changing as a school. It’s a really exciting and inspirational place to work with fantastic people in every department and level in the school.”
What we offer:
• A purpose-built EYFS setting designed to inspire and support our youngest learners
• A collaborative team of 7 EYFS teachers who thrive on teamwork and shared success
• Opportunities for accelerated progression into middle leadership
• A structured pathway for Early Career Teachers to develop a fulfilling career in SEND
• A comprehensive and well-supported induction programme
• Freedom to design learning tailored to individual pupil need, without the limits of mainstream expectations
• Ongoing CPD and access to external specialist support
• A positive, respectful culture that values wellbeing and work/life balance
“There is a genuine ‘human’ feel to the school. Colleagues are respectful of everyone’s situations and there is a real focus on providing a work/life balance.”
Commitment to safeguarding
Under section 175 of the Education Act 2002, Governing Bodies of maintained schools are required to ensure that their functions are carried out with a view to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. It is vital that schools adopt recruitment and selection procedures that help deter, reject or identify people who might abuse children or are otherwise unsuited to work with them, in order to safeguard children.
