Summary
QA/QC Inspector
We are seeking an experienced QA/QC Inspector to join a precision engineering team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring parts and assemblies produced in a machine shop environment meet strict quality and drawing requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Perform incoming, in-process and final inspections against engineering drawings and specifications
- Interpret engineering drawings and apply geometric tolerancing (GD&T) to verify conformity
- Use hand and bench measuring tools and coordinate measurement equipment to verify part features
- Generate and maintain inspection records, non-conformance reports and quality documentation
- Lead and contribute to root-cause investigations and corrective actions using problem-solving tools such as 8D, 5 Whys and Ishikawa diagrams
- Support first article inspections and production releases
- Liaise with production, engineering and supply chain to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards and internal procedures
Required skills and experience
- Proven QA/QC experience within a precision engineering (machine shop) environment
- Demonstrated experience using problem-solving tools (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa) to investigate and close issues
- Proficient in reading and understanding engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing (GD&T)
- Strong attention to detail, practical measurement skills and methodical approach to inspection
- Clear communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with production and engineering teams
Desirable
- Experience with CMM operation and inspection software
- Knowledge of ISO quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies
