Summary

General Science Teachers – Flexible short-term and long-term roles available across Somerset and surrounding areas These flexible opportunities are ideal for teachers who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings. You will work in a range of secondary schools, delivering engaging science lessons and supporting pupils’ learning in dynamic environments.Duties as General Science Teacher:

• Plan and deliver high-quality science lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively to ensure a positive learning environment
• Assess, record and report on pupil progress
• Prepare students for examinations and provide constructive feedback
• Uphold safeguarding standards and promote the welfare of pupils

Ideal General Science Teacher:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry and Physics at KS3 and KS4
• Experience teaching in secondary schools
• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
• Ability to engage and inspire students in science
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
• Flexibility to work across different schools and adapt to varied environments
