Summary
Job Introduction
If you’re passionate about creating products people love, enjoy spotting the next big trend before it lands, and thrive in a fast‑paced, creative environment, this could be the perfect next step in your buying career.
We’re looking for a Buyer (Gifting) to take full ownership of key gifting categories across both personalised and non‑personalised ranges. It’s a role with real impact — one where you’ll shape product strategy, lead development, build brilliant supplier partnerships and bring exciting ideas to life quickly. If you’re commercially astute, obsessed with understanding what customers want, and ready to make your mark in a digital‑first business, you’ll feel right at home here.
This is a hybrid role, with at least two days a week spent in our Bristol Head Office, giving you the perfect balance of collaboration and flexibility.
What you’ll be doing:
You’ll take ownership of your categories, ensuring the gifting offer performs commercially and feels relevant to customers. This involves leading the buying process, shaping data‑led range strategies, reviewing assortments to find growth opportunities, and putting together promotional and pricing plans that strengthen margin and sell‑through.
Innovation plays a key role, with new products developed across personalised, made‑to‑order and trend‑driven ranges. Working closely with design, tech teams and suppliers helps bring ideas to market quickly, while ongoing review of performance and customer behaviour keeps the range evolving.
Supplier relationships are managed carefully, balancing cost negotiations with quality, ethical and operational standards. Day‑to‑day trading is monitored closely so you can respond quickly to opportunities or risks, using insight to support fast, informed decision‑making and continuous improvement across the category.
What we\'re looking for:
We’re looking for someone who brings a balance of creativity, curiosity and commercial focus. You’ll ideally have:
- Experience as an established Assistant Buyer ready to step up, or as a Buyer looking for broader category ownership.
- Strong commercial instincts and confidence in using data to guide decisions.
- Solid negotiation skills and experience managing supplier performance.
- Excellent communication and influencing ability.
- Strong organisational skills and the capacity to juggle multiple projects at pace.
- A confident grasp of numeracy and analytics, with experience reviewing detailed sales and stock data.
