Summary
Part-time, TERM TIME ONLY – 32.25 hours per week

Support Staff Grade 1 – £25,392 (£18,238 pro rata)We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual to provide a clinically effective, high-quality service of first aid to pupils with Type 1 Diabetes during Games afternoons and Co-curricular activities. There may also be a requirement to accompany students on occasional school trips. You will be assisting the School Nurse and other staff in the supervision and management of pupils with Type 1 Diabetes. You will also provide health education to pupils and their families in relation to activities such as Games afternoons. You must be willing to undertake training with the School Nurse and other organisations to fulfil this role, as well as online training, training with parents and the pupil’s hospital diabetic team where appropriate. The role will be located in our health care and well-being centre and you may be called upon to support the general running of this area when necessary. This includes being the first responder to RESET calls when a pupil requires support and time away from the teaching classroom to implement their emotional regulation support plan. Support and training for this role will be provided. You will be able to foster open, collaborative relationships with pupils to support them to stay in class and reach their full potential. This is a part-time position, working during school term times only (plus 5 days in the school holidays). The salary is Grade 1 on the GDST national scale. The role is fixed-term until July 2027.
