Crynodeb

Do you have a background in sport or coaching and the ability to build positive relationships with young people who need patience, structure and understanding?

Are you calm under pressure, empathetic, and looking for work where you can make a genuine difference?

We're supporting a number of special schools and alternative provision settings in the Basingstoke and surrounding areas. We're looking for sports graduates and coaches to work 1:1 and in small groups with pupils who have additional needs, including SEMH and mental health difficulties.

If you can stay calm, set boundaries with care, and offer steady support to young people who are struggling, we'd love to hear from you.

No school experience? That's absolutely fine.
We'll support you with training, guidance and ongoing check-ins to help you feel confident and prepared.

What success looks like in this role
- Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- Supporting students on a 1:1 or small group basis
- Helping pupils regulate emotions and behaviour with calm, consistent support
- Following clear routines and safeguarding expectations
- Being recognised for reliability, empathy and professionalism

Who this role suits

This role is particularly well suited to:
- Sports graduates
- Coaches and instructors
- Youth or support workers
- Psychology or criminology graduates
- Anyone patient, resilient and motivated to support young people with additional needs

You'll receive free training and CPD, including:
- Introduction to SEND
- Autism awareness
- Behaviour management in schools
- Safeguarding and emotional regulation strategies

We don't expect you to have all the answers - just the right values and willingness to learn.
