Summary
Objectives of the post: To provide clinical leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care to service users on Paprika Ward and the SCFT. To provide psychiatric assessment and treatment of forensic psychiatric inpatients and as part of the SCFT. To take on the role of Responsible Clinician for detained patients. To produce reports First Tier Tribunals, Hospital Managers hearings, and Criminal Justice System were required. To take the lead on prescribing and risk assessments. To participate and lead weekly ward rounds. To produce reports for CQC Tribunals, Hospital Managers hearings and Criminal Justice System where required. Liaison with Courts, prisons, Ministry of Justice, MAPPA (Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements), General Adult Psychiatric Services and adjunct services. As a senior clinician, to have an integral role in the performance of the ward and community teams, further development of the service, and the development of the clinical pathways and priorities of the service line and Trust. To provide holistic care considering the complex health and social care needs of the service user. To provide clinical and professional leadership within the post and take part in management activities and governance processes related to the post or the wider service within which it is embedded. To train, teach and supervise medical staff and other professionals. Compliance with all legal obligations covering clinical practice (e.g. Mental Health Act and code of practice). A commitment to ensuring fair access to services for all. Compliance with procedures whereby doctors report concerns about professional conduct or competence of medical or other colleagues. Compliance with the principles of practice laid out by the GMC and Royal College of Psychiatrists.
