Summary

Policy Implementation Adhere to local and national policies, including standard operating procedures. Contribute to productivity and efficiency by participating in team discussions and initiatives. Financial and Physical Resources Ensure the safe and effective use of equipment, reporting maintenance needs as required. Monitor, order, and maintain team stock and equipment. Human Resources and Training Complete mandatory and clinical training, including vaccine administration, basic life support, and clinical practices. Minimise stock wastage through efficient usage. Communication and Relationships Communicate effectively with patients, including those who are distressed, anxious, or have communication difficulties (e.g., non-native English speakers, hearing impairments, or learning disabilities). Engage with registered healthcare professionals regarding patient care concerns and personal development needs. Support and orient new staff, including demonstrating duties. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, students, and peers. Demands of the Role Work evenings and weekends as required. Liaise with parents/carers via face-to-face interactions, letters, or telephone calls. Physical Effort Frequent physical tasks, including bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, and manual handling of equipment. Stand for extended periods while delivering vaccinations. Use visual display units, write records, and carry client records and equipment daily. Travel to various vaccination venues as required. Making Every Contact Count Offer health and wellbeing advice during public interactions, leveraging opportunities to promote healthier lifestyles. Mental Effort Maintain concentration for vaccination, client assessment, and observation. Adapt to shifting priorities and service needs. Emotional Effort Handle difficult emotional situations, including interactions with aggressive or needle-phobic patients and family members. Additional Information Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality regarding patients and staff, complying with GDPR and related legislation. Health & Safety: Adhere to Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and organizational policies, reporting concerns to senior staff.
