The Business Partner for Risk is part of a well-established Assurance team that supports the Head of Risk Management & Business Resilience to embed risk management processes across the agency.
The role holder will support the Head of Risk Management & Business Resilience to embed and improve the agency’s approach to risk management, to ensure there is a robust risk control framework that takes account of best practice, including wider Departmental and Government policies and procedures
The Business Partner for Risk is part of a well-established Assurance team that supports the Head of Risk Management & Business Resilience to embed risk management processes across the agency.
The role holder will support the Head of Risk Management & Business Resilience to embed and improve the agency’s approach to risk management, to ensure there is a robust risk control framework that takes account of best practice, including wider Departmental and Government policies and procedures.
Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:
1. Provide support to the Head of Risk Management & Business Resilience to ensure an effective risk management framework is in place for the agency, that are compliant with the Orange Book framework.
2. Monitor, challenge & report on the quality and content of risk information.
3. Provide advice and guidance to Corporate Senior Leaders and other managers across DVSA on risk management processes and escalation points, ensuring adherence to DVSA, DfT and civil service frameworks.
4. Prepare the monthly risk reporting by collating and analysing directorate risk registers, providing briefing information to the Head of Risk Management & Business Resilience for presentation to the Executive Committee recommending areas of focus and mitigation.
5. Be the first point of contact for the risk champions in providing subject matter expert advice and guidance.
6. Monitor the effectiveness and ongoing needs of the risk champions and provide recommendations on future training needs to ensure that the risk champions are utlilised in the most effective way.
7. Demonstrate leadership by providing guidance to colleagues to support the delivery of objectives. Manage and engage with honesty and integrity, and upholding the reputation of the Agency, Department and Civil Service.
8. Ensure regular contact with Corporate Senior Leaders to provide
expert advice and guidance on all risk policies and processes.
