Do you have a strong interest in rehabilitation and the care of older people, and thrive in a friendly, supportive team culture? Are you looking for the chance to make a meaningful difference to patients’ recovery and independence

If so, we would love to hear from you.

We are currently seeking a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our inpatient intermediate care and rehabilitation team at Crawley Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic multidisciplinary team delivering holistic, client-centred and evidence-based care.

As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, you will:
• Deliver high-quality rehabilitation to patients with complex needs within an intermediate care unit
• Undertake comprehensive assessments, develop and implement intervention plans, and support effective rehabilitation outcomes
• Lead and coordinate complex discharge planning, working closely with patients, families, and partner services
• Apply a high level of clinical reasoning to ensure safe, patient-centred decision-making
• Manage your own caseload effectively, including appropriate delegation to therapy support staff
• Work flexibly and collaboratively to support the wider multidisciplinary team

We are the main provider of NHS community services across East and West Sussex, with 6,000 staff serving 1.3 million people. We deliver essential care to adults and children, helping them manage their health, avoid hospital admissions, and reduce hospital stays.

Why work for us?
• Positive 2024 NHS Staff Survey results, highlighting compassionate leadership and wellbeing
• Varied environments: community hospitals, patients’ homes, and bases across Sussex
• Flexible working options: part-time, flexi-time, annualised hours, and flexi-retirement
• Excellent training, development, and research opportunities
• Accredited Living Wage Employer, we ensure fair pay for all our staff
• Cost-effective workplace nurseries in Crawley, Hove, and Brighton
• Active EMBRACE, Disability & Wellbeing, LGBTQIA+, and Religion & Belief networks
• Level 3 Disability Confident Leader and Veteran Aware Trust

Our values—Compassionate Care, Working Together, Achieving Ambitions, Delivering Excellence—guide everything we do.

We embrace diversity and encourage applications from all backgrounds, particularly from ethnically diverse, disabled, and LGBTQIA+ individuals. We aim to create an inclusive environment and support reasonable adjustments during recruitment.

This post may close early if sufficient applications are received.

• A minimum of 18 months’ post-registration experience
• A demonstrable interest in rehabilitation and the care of older people
• Excellent communication skills, adaptable to the needs of patients, relatives and colleagues
