Summary
To work as part of the Ward and ward Therapy team implementing activities for our service users with a diagnosis of Dementia.
To plan and facilitate group activities that are suitable for patients with a diagnosis of Dementia with guidance and support from Occupational Therapy.
To develop a rapport with patients to encourage their interest and skills.
A good understanding of Dementia and supporting patients and their families/carers
To be aware of individual patients’ needs and risks through communication with Occupational Therapy and Nursing staff.
To observe the general behaviour, ability and response of patients to activities.
To have an awareness of the situations that may make patients vulnerable or at risk.
To report any concerns immediately to qualified staff.
