Summary

Job Title: Personal Assistant
Location: Dihewyd Nr lampeter
Hourly Rate: £15.00 per hour
Hours Offered: up to 30hrs. Per week agreed in advance with the employers. Can be split between several PAs.
Flexible Personal Assistant needed to Support a Remarkable Couple at present temporary to cover long term sickness but likely to become permanent
We are looking for compassionate, energetic, and reliable Personal Assistants to support a wonderful couple: a lady with severe mobility issues who is a perma-nent wheelchair user, and her husband, a proud Korean War veteran.
This is a rewarding, varied role that enables the couple to live comfortably, stay so-cially connected, and enjoy everyday life together. Funded through the Direct Pay-ments scheme, the role is designed to support their independence and wellbeing.
The Role
As a Personal Assistant, you will provide personal care, social support, and prac-tical assistance for both members of the household.
Main duties include:
• Supporting the lady with personal care, including assistance with washing, hair care, medication reminders, applying creams, and helping her look and feel her best
• Helping with daily routines in the home, including meal preparation, light do-mestic tasks, and small tasks that make life easier (e.g., putting a new toilet roll on the holder)
• Providing companionship and social support for both the lady and her hus-band, helping reduce social isolation and encouraging engagement in shared and individual activities
• Supporting hobbies and interests and helping the couple access the local community, including trips into town for coffee, shopping, or other outings
• Preparing snacks and drinks as required during shifts
• Always ensuring the safety and wellbeing of both the lady and her husband
• Engaging with the family dog and being comfortable around pets
• Carrying out any other reasonable duties requested to support the household
This role is flexible, with hours agreed in advance, and offers variety and the oppor-tunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of both members of this remarkable couple.

If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.
Wages will be paid in arrears on a 4 weekly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.
You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.
You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
