Hours of Work / Working Pattern: This is a permanent, full-time role requiring flexibility across 5 days, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
Main Place of Work: Barry Hospital, with community-based working across the Vale of Glamorgan.

Description: The Vale Community Resource Service (VCRS) is an integrated health, social care and third sector team, working collaboratively with services across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. We support people in their own homes within the Vale locality to maximise functional independence in daily living, reducing the need for hospital admission and long-term care. Following hospital discharge, we provide therapeutic intervention and reablement support, ensuring a seamless and timely transfer.

Our approach is person-centred, working with individuals to achieve jointly identified goals. The team includes Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Dieticians, Pharmacy Technicians, Care Coordinators and Reablement Support Workers.

About the role
As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will work within an established multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality occupational therapy assessment and interventions for adults with a range of conditions.

Key responsibilities include: Promoting independence, health and wellbeing through collaborative working; Carrying out complex assessments and developing personalised care plans; Prescribing and fitting equipment and adaptations; Supervising and supporting junior staff, students and assistants; Contributing to service development and innovation.

About you
We are looking for an experienced, forward-thinking Occupational Therapist who is enthusiastic about innovative ways of working.

You will have: HCPC registration and a recognised OT qualification; Minimum three years’ post-qualification experience, ideally including complex cases; Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team; A positive attitude and motivation to enable people to remain at home and maintain independence; A full driving licence and ability to travel across the Vale.
