Role Overview
Our client is seeking a skilled Refrigeration Service Engineer to join their Midlands-based team. This is a field-based role responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing customer plant and equipment under service and maintenance agreements. You’ll work directly with customers, delivering a high standard of technical service while representing the business professionally on site.
This role is ideal for candidates based in or around West Midlands and surrounding areas .
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on systems and equipment at customer sites
Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM), breakdowns, warranty work, commissioning, and hire activities
Use diagnostic software, digital tools, and hand tools in line with technical and engineering standards
Build strong customer relationships and act as a trusted technical contact
Communicate effectively with service desks, supervisors, and engineering teams
Complete service reports and documentation accurately
Support continuous improvement and safe working practices
Skills & Experience
Previous experience in a service or field-based technician role
Relevant technical qualifications, including F-Gas certification
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Confident using mobile apps, diagnostic software, and Microsoft Office
Customer-focused with strong communication skills
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Willing to take part in a planned standby and call-out rota (including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays)
Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK
Desirable:
Experience in HVAC, building services, or manufacturing environments
