The Role
You keep the desk moving. You support consultants by handling the daily admin and keeping candidates responsive, informed, and ready for work in schools. You manage high volumes, tight deadlines, and constant changes, because education recruitment runs on urgency and organisation.

The Graduate Network is an education recruitment specialist focused on placing trained undergraduates and graduates into school-based roles, often centred on classroom support, tutoring, 1:1 interventions, and small group work. What you will do

Candidate engagement

- Call new applicants quickly and run a first screen, availability, travel, experience, and role preferences
- Keep regular contact with active candidates to confirm availability and prevent dropouts
- Brief candidates before bookings, start time, dress code, school expectations, and safeguarding standards
- Confirm attendance the day before and on the morning of the booking
- Collect feedback after shifts and flag issues early to the consultant


Admin support for consultants

- Log calls, notes, and outcomes on the CRM with clear detail
- Maintain accurate candidate records, availability, preferences, and placement history
- Prepare candidate summaries for submissions to schools
- Format and update CVs so they are clean, consistent, and school-ready
- Book registrations, send confirmations, and chase missing information
- Manage inbox tasks, advert responses, call-backs, and diary coordination
- Support timesheet checks and resolve missing or incorrect information fast


Pipeline and vacancy support

- Post and refresh job adverts to keep response strong
- Search the CRM for suitable candidates when consultants need cover quickly
- Build shortlists by key stage, subject, SEN experience, and location
- Keep live lists of available candidates for same-day and next-day cover


What you need

- Strong phone confidence and clear communication
- Fast, accurate admin and good attention to detail
- Organised approach, you will juggle multiple priorities all day
- Comfortable working with systems, data, and high call volume
- Interest in education and helping candidates succeed in schools
