Summary
Corepeople are currently looking for skilled Groundworkers, with Forward Dumper Drivers, Roller and 360 Excavator Drivers to work on a project in Middlesbrough.
Key Responsibilities & Skills
• Sub-base Levelling: Fine-grading and leveling the final layer of sub-base material to the correct height (level) and camber before laying tarmac or paving.
• Hand Trimming/Excavation: Using shovels and hand tools for precise, detailed trimming of trenches or verges that machinery cannot accurately reach.
• Compaction: Using pedestrian rollers or vibrating plate compactors (wacker plates) to compact the final layers.
• Cleaning/Preparation: Removing debris, excess dirt, and ensuring a clean surface for surfacing gangs.
Experience & Qualifications
• Proven experience in groundworks, specifically pipe-laying and drainage
• Ability to work efficiently in challenging, all-weather conditions
• Relevant industry certifications required, such as NPORS or CPCS for plant machinery
