Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

Landewednack School is seeking to appoint an ambitious, dynamic, positive, and creative EYFS/KS1 teacher.

Situated in a beautiful rural setting on the Lizard Peninsula, our school benefits from exceptional outdoor learning environments both onsite and in the surrounding area. We believe every pupil is a unique individual, and we are proud of our inclusive, engaging, diverse, and challenging curriculum—delivered by our excellent, dedicated staff.

As a small school rooted in a rich local community, we nurture curious minds and encourage independent thinking. We embrace learning beyond the classroom walls, making the most of all that Cornwall has to offer and connecting our lessons to the wider world.

This role is for a class teacher of a mixed Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 class. You will work closely with our nursery and be supported by a strong team of teaching assistants.

We are looking for an outstanding practitioner who holds high expectations for children’s learning and development, and who is committed to supporting both academic progress and personal well-being. At Landewednack, we aim high—encouraging our children and staff to embrace new challenges and grow with confidence.

About You:

Our children say they’d like a teacher who:

· “Is kind and fun”

· “Teaches us new things and helps us to work hard”

· “Is proud of us”

· “Will be part of our school community”

· “Likes to teach inside and outside”

In return, we offer:

· A dedicated, enthusiastic, and supportive team with a shared vision and a wealth of experience

· Access to high-quality resources, frequent CPD, and modern learning schemes to support planning

· Children who are polite, motivated, and excited to learn

· A stunning natural environment: a large playing field with a wild area, a neighbouring farm, cliff-top nature walks, and nearby beaches—all on the breath-taking Lizard Peninsula

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about teaching and learning and who embodies our vision: to enable every individual to succeed academically, become lifelong learners, and grow into confident, happy, and engaged members of their community and the wider world—all while making lasting memories at Landewednack.

We warmly welcome visits—it's the best way to experience our school, meet our wonderful children, and see our ambitious curriculum in action. ECTs are welcome to apply.

For more information or to arrange a visit, please contact our secretary, Sue Tattersall, at landewednack@tpacademytrust.org or by phoning 01326 290337 (option 1).
