Following a recent inspection that suggests we "might be outstanding" if a graded inspection were held today, we are seeking a highly skilled individual to join our Leadership Team as an Assistant Headteacher.
The Role
As a pivotal member of the school’s Leadership Team, you will work alongside the Headteacher to strategically develop SEN(D) policy and provision. Key responsibilities include:
• Leading and managing the day-to-day operation of SEN(D) support, including the SEN(D) register and provision maps.
• Providing professional guidance to colleagues on the "graduated approach" and differentiated teaching.
• Coordinating EHCP processes and acting as the primary point of contact for external agencies.
• Line managing and inspiring our team of Learning Support Assistants to ensure high-quality performance.
• Securing excellent outcomes to ensure pupils with SEN(D) remain successful learners.
About You
We are looking for an experienced or aspiring Assistant Headteacher who:
• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with at least five years of experience.
• Possesses the NASENCO qualification or has the desire and commitment to undertake it.
• Is an excellent classroom teacher with a proven ability to meet a range of individual needs.
• Has strong professional knowledge of the SEN(D) Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
• Demonstrates sensitivity, integrity, and enthusiasm when working with families and "hard to reach" parents.
• Is a strategic thinker with the personal presence to initiate and manage change.
