Salary range Band 3, £25,989 - £28,142. Band 4, £28,598 - £31,022

Contract Type 1 x Permanent and 1 x fixed term (12 months) secondment option will be considered

Working Pattern Full time

Working hours - 36.25 per week

The role will be primarily based at Trafford Town Hall (Stretford) and may require ad-hoc visits to the One Trafford Depot (Wythenshawe) and visits to Trafford Council operated car parks.

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Parking Services Team in a key supporting role. Reporting to the Parking and Traffic Manager and oversight from our Senior Parking Officers, you will help with the day-to-day administration and coordination of parking services. This will include parking and Moving Traffic Enforcement, processing and monitoring permit applications and parking suspensions and dispensations.

Working closely with colleagues, you will contribute to our frontline service by assisting by helping manage customer and stakeholder enquiries contributing to improving the satisfaction of all of our service users.

A typical day may include talking to customers or responding to enquiries over email to assist in troubleshooting to ensure the smooth delivery of parking services. You may be required to provide accurate and timely administration for adjudication, Court and bailiff processes, as well as responding to related queries.

You will assist the team by visiting our facilities and reporting on any improvements to help maintain and improve our offer.


About you

You will have strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, private businesses and members of the public. You should be comfortable managing your own workload, supporting colleagues as needed and have the ability to understand and share information to help resolve issues effectively.

You will be a champion for improving customer experience and would benefit from working within a customer-focused environment. You will be able to follow established procedures confidently while helping to identify ways we can continue to improve how we work.

An understanding of Local Council functions and Civil Parking Enforcement functions (under the Traffic Management Act 2008) would be beneficial, however this can be learnt whilst in role.
