Your new company
A publicly listed, international group operating within a highly regulated commercial sector is seeking a Corporate Tax Compliance and Reporting Assistant Manager to join its growing in-house tax function. The business has a strong UK footprint alongside expanding international operations and is known for its collaborative culture, long-term outlook and investment in its people. This organisation offers a supportive environment for technically minded tax professionals who want to broaden their exposure beyond pure compliance while remaining close to the detail.
Your new role
This role is ideally suited to a newly qualified tax professional or first-time mover from practice or industry who is looking to take the next step in their career within an in-house environment. As Corporate Tax Compliance & Reporting Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in supporting group-wide corporate tax compliance, reporting and governance obligations across the UK and selected overseas jurisdictions. Working closely with the Tax and wider finance team, you'll be involved in both routine compliance cycles and ad hoc technical projects, gaining exposure to a broad range of corporate tax matters within a complex, multi-entity structure.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting quarterly and year-end corporate tax provisioning
- Preparing and reviewing tax reconciliations, disclosures and supporting schedules
- Assisting with UK corporation tax computations, returns and payment calculations
- Managing UK quarterly instalment payments and tracking tax cash flows
- Supporting overseas tax filings by liaising with local finance teams and external advisors
- Monitoring changes in UK and international tax legislation and assessing impact
- Supporting internal tax controls, risk management and documentation processes
- Assisting with tax-related projects, restructurings and business queries as required
This role offers strong visibility across the finance function and regular interaction with senior stakeholders.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this Assistant Manager role, you will ideally bring:
- A professional tax or accounting qualification (CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent), or be nearing completion
- Solid experience in corporate tax compliance and/or tax reporting, gained in practice or industry
- A good technical understanding of UK corporation tax and tax accounting principles
- Strong Excel skills and confidence handling detailed numerical data
- The ability to manage multiple deadlines in a structured and proactive manner
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
Experience within a multinational, regulated or complex group environment would be advantageous, but is not essential.
What you'll get in return
In return, the organisation offers:
- A competitive salary aligned to Assistant Manager level
- Hybrid working model with flexibility built in
- Exposure to a broad corporate tax role within a growing international group
- Clear development pathways and ongoing technical training
- Supportive team culture with strong work-life balance
- A comprehensive benefits package including pension, healthcare and annual leave
