SEND Learning Support Assistant 2 Vacancies Post 1 - 30 hours per week Post 2 – 21 hours (9am – 1.10pm) Grade 5 point 7 Fixed term contract – Summer Term 13th April 2026 (or as soon as possible) – 22nd August 2026 Rothley Church of England Academy is a large single-academy school set on an expansive, welcoming site in the village of Rothley. This is a wonderful opportunity to join a dedicated team committed to nurturing every child’s potential. We are looking for two calm and nurturing SEND Learning Support Assistants to provide support for identified pupils in Foundation/Key Stage 1. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s early learning journey, helping them to access the curriculum and develop confidence, independence, and positive learning behaviours. The successful candidates will work closely with our supportive and dedicated staff team, contributing to a warm and inclusive school environment where all children can thrive. Key Responsibilities • Provide learning and pastoral support for pupils with additional needs. • Support the pupil to access the curriculum, adapt activities when needed, and promote their engagement in learning. • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff and external professionals. • Use calm, consistent approaches to behaviour and emotional regulation. • Support the pupil’s social, emotional, and communication development. • Contribute to a positive, nurturing learning environment both inside and outside the classroom. Essential Skills & Experience • A calm, patient and consistent approach to supporting young pupils. • Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team. • An understanding of early childhood development and Foundation/KS1 expectations. • A genuine commitment to supporting children’s individual needs and well being. Desirable • ELSA training • Knowledge of strategies to support children with communication, social or learning needs
