This is frontline work where your experience counts — fast-paced, people-centred, and driven by real outcomes.
We’re seeking a Housing Support Officer with first-hand experience supporting people affected by housing-related issues and rough sleeping. You’ll work directly with individuals and families at critical points, providing practical support, clear advocacy, and solutions that genuinely move people forward.
This is a short-term role for someone who can step in confidently, take ownership, and start making an impact from day one.
The Role
Provide targeted housing-related support to individuals and families experiencing instability
Work directly with people affected by rough sleeping and associated vulnerabilities
Advocate effectively to help clients navigate housing pathways and support services
Build strong working relationships with local authorities, housing providers, and voluntary sector partners
Manage a diverse caseload with professionalism, autonomy, and focus
Person Specification
Essential
Proven, hands-on experience supporting people with housing-related issues and/or rough sleeping
Experience working with vulnerable individuals or families in crisis
Strong understanding of homelessness pressures, housing pathways, and support options
Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and make sound decisions
Excellent communication skills with a calm, compassionate, and non-judgmental approach
Desirable
Experience within housing support, homelessness, family support, or community services
Knowledge of local authority and/or voluntary sector environments
Confidence working collaboratively within multi-agency settings
