We're looking for a Waste Operative who will deliver excellent service standards, while meeting SLA agreements and adhering to cleaning schedules.
Contract: PermanentType: Full TimeHours: 37.5 per weekPay: £24,465 per annum Location: Cumberland Infirmary, Newtown Road, Carlisle, Cumbria, England, CA2 7HYShift Pattern: Monday to Friday 6-2 & 2-10 pm with occasional weekend work
Role Responsibilities:
-Collect, move, sort, process, and dispatch waste and materials across the airport.
-Load/unload hazardous and non-hazardous waste safely and efficiently.
-Respond to adhoc client requests and maintain cleanliness through regular litter picks.
-Complete daily equipment check sheets and report unsafe conditions or incidents.
-Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental policies, and waste legislation.
What we're looking for:
-Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks safely.
-Valid UK driving licence and willingness to work outdoors in all weather.
-Manual handling training and strong literacy/numeracy skills.
-Excellent timekeeping, attendance, and a diligent, safety-first mindset.
-Desirable: experience in the waste industry and use of balers/compactors.
