Imaging Assistant (Breast Imaging) – Band 3
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Imaging Assistant to join the Breast Imaging Team at Barts Health NHS Trust.
The successful candidate will support Radiologists and Radiographers in the delivery of high-quality breast imaging services, contributing to accurate diagnosis while ensuring patients are treated with the utmost care, dignity and consideration.
This is a patient-facing clinical role that requires strong communication skills, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering excellent patient care within a busy and dynamic environment.
The post holder will be required to work flexibly across the three Breast Imaging sites — St Bartholomew’s Hospital, Whipps Cross Hospital and Newham General Hospital — as part of a rotational service to ensure consistent, high-quality care is delivered across all locations.
Assisting Radiologists and Radiographers within Breast Imaging. Providing high quality care and assisting in accurate diagnosis while treating patients with the utmost care & consideration.
The main duties are
· organising Ultrasound sessions; calling patients in and checking ID; explaining procedures; answering patient questions;
· assisting the Radiologist/Radiographer during examinations; assisting with procedures including aseptic technique;
· delivering the highest level of patient care;
· assisting on reception when required;
· monitoring stock levels
