To support the Security & Car Parking work across the Walsall Healthcare Trust under the Security Management Team from the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust and provide timely advice and guidance to Senior Managers and staff at all levels in the aspects of security & car parking, participating in the organisation systems to promote compliance with legislation.

To work with other Specialist Advisors planning initiatives and activities that promotes compliance with all relevant legislation, Approved Codes of Practice and Standards for Better Health.

To work closely with and support the Head of Security & Car Parking (LSMS) and the Deputy Head of Security & Car Parking (LSMS) to promote a pro-security culture throughout the Trust.

To work closely with the on-site contracted Security & Car Parking provider on a day to day basis ensuring that both Security & Car parking policies and procedures are being met.

Attending relevant accredited training programmes and associated conferences as necessary.

To survey and report on the standard of security & car parking in all the Trust’s premises and those areas where Trust staff work.

To manage own workload, must be able to work on their own initiative, provide and receive complex information and integrate this into achievable working strategies.

To be aware and have an understanding of all current aspects of security and car parking related legislation, best practice and national guidance, advising management and staff appropriately, as well as providing day to day guidance. To know when to seek guidance from the relevant Security/car parking specialist.

To keep under review all existing security & car parking related policies and guidelines to ensure they remain appropriate and up to date in respect of statutory requirements and good practice.

To work within common systems of working and mutual support arrangements to ensure Trust compliance with existing or new health and safety legislation.

Liaise and consult with managers, staff and accredited reps at all levels of the organisation including close liaison and working relationships with those managers taking a supporting role in respect to related statutory compliance.

To support the programme of Security & car parking related Inspections, producing reports and monitoring action plans were required.

Expected to respond to out-of-hours incidents, when required to.

To assist the Head of Security & Car Parking (LSMS) and the Deputy Head of Security & Car Parking (LSMS) in developing and delivering a programme of security awareness sessions\ exhibitions and training sessions across the Trust to promote staff awareness of legislation.

To consult with staff side safety representatives on all relevant aspects of security management

To provide advice and support to promote the delivery of a safe and secure environment, working with all staff and external agencies to tackle security management issues through a range of proactive and reactive actions
