An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to join our well‑established 90‑bed care home, providing high‑quality Residential, Nursing, Dementia Residential, and Dementia Nursing care. We are looking for a strong, compassionate leader who can support the Home Manager in delivering exceptional standards of care and creating a warm, safe, and person‑centred environment for our residents.

About the Role of Deputy Manager

The Deputy Manager will play a key role in the day‑to‑day running of the home, ensuring clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and a positive culture for both residents and staff. You will act as a role model for best practice, support staff development, and help drive continuous improvement across all areas of the service.

Key Responsibilities for the Deputy Manager include:

• Support the Home Manager with operational and clinical leadership across the home


• Ensure high standards of person‑centred care for residents with a range of needs, including dementia and complex nursing requirements


• Lead, mentor, and supervise the care and nursing teams


• Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and medication management


• Maintain compliance with CQC standards and internal quality frameworks


• Build strong relationships with residents, families, and external professionals


• Contribute to staff recruitment, training, and performance management


• Act as Manager in their absence, ensuring smooth and safe running of the home


Requirements for the Deputy Manager include:

• Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN/RNLD) with a valid NMC pin


• Previous experience in a senior or deputy role within a care home setting


• Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of dementia care


• Confident leader with excellent communication and organisational skills


• Passionate about delivering outstanding care and supporting staff to thrive


• Ability to work proactively, problem‑solve, and maintain a calm approach
