About You
You will be an experienced and passionate Environmental Education Officer looking for an opportunity to deliver inspiring and
exciting environmental and outdoor education.
You will need an understanding of safeguarding and if you have experience of working with disadvantaged young people this would be
an advantage. However, we are happy to support your development in this role.
Due to the logistics of this role, it would be preferred that you will have and a full, clean mini-bus license (D1 category) as
well as a valid First Aid certificate. However, if not we can support you in obtaining these.
You will have relevant experience of delivery within an outdoor and environmental education setting as well as specific experience
of face-to-face work with young people in an environmental education setting.
If you have previously had experience of operating outdoor and environmental award schemes this would be highly advantageous.
Experience of running outdoor and environmental education projects for a variety of groups especially challenging young people
from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities would be fantastic so you are able to quickly and effectively start delivering our
programme.
We are incredibly well respected in the provision of outdoor and environmental education and are constantly working to secure
additional funding to deliver programmes we are both exceptionally proud of but also confident make a positive impact on the lives
of the children, young people and adults we work with. Whilst we cannot make any assurance, we would like to hope there will be an
opportunity to continue working with us beyond the initial 6 months contract term.
This post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check (paid for by YMCA) and registration with the DBS Update Service. We
reserve the right to withdraw this role before the closing date should we be able to appoint to the role.
