Summary
General The post-holder will assume a continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge and the proper functioning of his/her department. Office accommodation and secretarial support is available for this post. Weekly Timetable The timetable may be flexible and the candidate should expect that this will evolve with the needs of the service. A formal job plan will be agreed with the appointee and their supervising Consultant(s) on behalf of the Clinical Director / Medical Director. Facilities for Study and Training Teaching, Audit, Research On-call commitment There is a formal on call commitment. IMPORTANT GENERAL NOTE The post-holder must take reasonable care of his/her own health and safety and any other personnel who may be affected by his/her omission. Trust policies and regulations must be followed at all times. Annual and study leave arrangements must be co-coordinated within the SDU to ensure there is an acceptable level of cover. Indicative weekly timetable includes: Several medical retina clinics including AMD, Vascular Medical Retina, VHL amongst other MR clinic 1 Eye Casualty session 1 Admin session 1 Teaching session Cataract surgery is possible via weekend theatres, but this is optional and not included with the Medical Retina Clinical Fellow timetables.
