What you’ll do as a General Hand – Workshop and Stores

You’ll be entrusted to:

- Keep the workshop clean, organised, and free of hazards, ensuring tools and equipment are stored correctly.
- Assist with setup, breakdown, and minor maintenance of workshop tools and equipment.
- Handle materials safely, including receiving, storing, and distributing supplies.
- Support skilled technicians by providing tools and materials as needed.
- Follow health and safety procedures, wearing appropriate PPE and reporting hazards promptly.
- Help maintain records of equipment usage, maintenance, and inventory levels.
- Assist with stock audits, requisition processing, and logistics for stores deliveries.
- Support purchasing and administrative tasks, including visitor pass applications.

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:

- Ability to obtain Security Clearance (SC).
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Experience working in a store’s environment with stock management.
- A driving licence covering 3.5T vans.
- Commercial awareness and a willingness to learn.
A Standard DBS check will be carried out for this position. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands, and warnings as permitted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. An Occupational Health Questionnaire will also be completed so we can ensure you have the necessary support to perform your duties.
This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. In addition, depending on the nature of the role, you may need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC), which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
