Summary

Finance Assistant – Newton Aycliffe

*Minimum qualification of AAT level 2 required

Hours: Full Time (Monday – Friday)

Salary: £24,500 - £27,500 per annum

Reports to: The post holder will be accountable to the Finance Manager, CEO’s & Directors of ROC Group

Objectives: To provide a highly effective Finance administration service

Job Purpose and Role:

We are looking for a proactive Finance Assistant to join our busy and growing finance team. You will support the Finance Manager and provide efficient, customer-focused financial and administrative support across the organisation.

This is a fast-paced role requiring strong organisation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities while delivering high-quality service to internal teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process incoming and outgoing invoices accurately and on time
• Support banking, payments, and account reconciliations
• Assist with payroll preparation, timesheets, and staff expenses
• Help prepare VAT returns and financial reports
• Maintain accurate financial records (manual and electronic)
• Respond to finance queries from colleagues and external stakeholders
• Distribute financial documentation to relevant managers
• Liaise with facilities and other departments to ensure accurate information flow
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with company policies, Health & Safety, and Safeguarding standards

• Customer-focused with strong attention to detail
• Able to work effectively in a busy team environment
