Summary
Are you passionate about helping people grow and perform at their best?
We're looking for a Performance Coach to join our team, where you'll support colleagues across HAAS to build confidence, strengthen skills, and reach their full potential. Working closely with our Functional Specialists and Team Managers, you'll provide tailored coaching, identify development opportunities, and help individuals make meaningful improvements in quality, behaviour, and overall performance. If you're someone who enjoys empowering others and driving positive change, this role is a great opportunity to make a real impact.
The Health Assessment Advisory Service (HAAS) arranges and carries out assessments for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and the Department for Communities (DfC). The purpose of the assessment is to understand how an illness or disability affects a person's daily life. After the assessment, the DWP/DfC makes the decision as to whether the individual will receive any benefits. The Health Assessment Advisory Service is delivered on behalf of the DWP & DfC by Capita.
What you'll be doing:
• Deliver tailored coaching that builds confidence, strengthens skills, and supports colleagues to embed good habits over time.
• Use data and quality insights to identify strengths, gaps, and performance barriers, creating practical goals to drive measurable improvement.
• Review progress regularly, tracking changes in AHT, accuracy, behavioural indicators, and overall quality.
• Provide targeted support based on trends or recurring issues, ensuring coaching aligns with policies, compliance, and operational priorities.
• Collaborate closely with Team Managers to develop individual coaching plans and share updates on progress, strengths, and next steps.
• Support new starters, colleagues in transition, or those requiring additional performance improvement.
• Promote a positive performance culture by encouraging reflection, accountability, resilience, and continuous learning.
• Maintain accurate coaching records to ensure transparency, consistency, and effective reporting.
What we're looking for :
• Previous experience in coaching, learning and development
• Strong coaching skills with the ability to adapt style to suit individual needs.
• Holding or working towards a recognised coaching qualification
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain ideas clearly, simply, and professionally.
• Familiarity with behavioural coaching models and development frameworks.
• Ability to analyse performance trends and translate data into meaningful insight.
• Experience supporting colleagues to improve performance through guidance, structure, and positive challenges.
• Knowledge of performance metrics such as AHT, accuracy, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
• Experience designing and delivering training content.
• Proven experience in coaching, mentoring, training, or performance management.
