Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their team, focusing primarily on hotel fit-out projects. This position offers a competitive salary of up to £60,000, with potential for career progression and the opportunity to work on high-profile projects. Freelance options are also available for candidates who prefer that arrangement. The role is based in Altrincham, with travel to hotel fit-out sites across the North West and occasional visits to Yorkshire regions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Independently manage your own diary, conducting site visits for project reviews and updates.
• Oversee estimating duties, including tender negotiations and cost breakdowns for hotel fit-out projects.
• Prepare client valuations, cash flow forecasts, and monitor project preliminaries with high accuracy.
• Ensure the timely recovery and valuation of variations and instructions for ongoing projects.
• Administer subcontractor contracts and accounts, ensuring all payments and notices are managed effectively.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly cost/value reconciliations and project forecasts.
• Proactively identify and communicate any potential commercial risks or threats to senior surveyors.
• Attend site meetings and provide clear, timely cost advice and surveying information to clients and project stakeholders.
Key Requirements:
• A Surveying Degree or equivalent qualification/experience.
• Experience with JCT contracts, specifically in the fit-out sector.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Freelance candidates must demonstrate strong time management skills and a track record of successful project delivery.
