Summary
To demonstrate expert assessment and manual treatment skills, applying advanced knowledge to complex patient conditions, ensuring safe and effective interventions tailored to individual needs. To take responsibility for the safe use and maintenance of equipment, including teaching junior physiotherapists and non-qualified staff in its correct and competent use for both treatment and patient self-management. To supervise, mentor, and appraise junior staff and students, supporting their professional development while fostering consistent high-quality physiotherapy care across the medical team. To provide specialist guidance and practical instruction to patients, carers, and MDT members, enhancing understanding of physiotherapy interventions and ensuring a coordinated approach to care. To manage and prioritise patient caseloads effectively, making clinical decisions independently while coordinating with the MDT to facilitate timely assessment, treatment, and safe discharge or transfer. To actively engage in continuous professional development and service improvement, participating in training, reflective practice, competency setting, and evaluation to maintain and enhance specialist physiotherapy skills.
