Summary
Neway International are seeking a Driver to join our client based with Southwark Council.
Location: Unit 2, Sandgate Industrial Estate, 57 Sandgate Street, Southwark, Surrey, SE15 1LE
Hours: 36 per week
Start Date: 09 February 2026
Duration: 24 Weeks
Pay Rates:
• PAYE: £16.33 per hour
• Limited/Umbrella: £21.20 per hour

About the Client
Southwark Council’s Cleaning and Waste Services team delivers essential environmental services across the borough, ensuring clean, safe, and well‑maintained public spaces. The team operates a fleet of vehicles supporting cleansing, waste transport, and operational duties.
The Role
The Driver will support Southwark Cleaning operations by operating council vehicles safely and efficiently, transporting goods and waste, and assisting with cleaning duties when required. The role requires strong attention to safety, accurate record‑keeping, and a reliable, proactive approach to daily operational tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Operate vehicles within licence entitlement to support cleaning and waste operations.
Complete daily vehicle safety checks and maintain accurate log book entries.
Report defects, incidents, and accidents immediately.
Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure security of all vehicles under your control.
Transport goods, waste, and materials as assigned.
Assist with sorting, recycling, and cleaning duties when required.
Attend mandatory training and follow new procedures or operational methods.
Candidate Requirements
Valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicles operated.
Experience in driving roles within waste, cleaning, or similar operational environments.
Strong awareness of vehicle safety, compliance, and reporting procedures.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively within a team.
Willingness to undertake cleaning duties as part of the role.
