Summary

Please note this is not a Swansea city council job. You will be working with a private client who received direct payments.

A little about myself:
I am a lady in my 40’s living in Swansea. My main disability is my sight; I am registered blind with no vision. I also suffer with chronic fatigue. I require support to carry out day to days tasks like admin, shopping, and attending appointments. I also need my PA to be present when looking after my children in the community. I am looking for a person to help me in my daily family life and support me to carry out my life to its fullest.

Driver required to take me out MUST be willing to take a guide dog in their vehicle.

Female preferred.

Hours of work
14 hours per week (mainly Thursday)
Over 2 days

Rate of pay.
£13.13

Essential:
I need you to:
• Like dogs as I have a guide dog
• Be Flexible
• Be happy to be my eyes around my children and help if needed.
• Be able to work evenings/ weekends when needed.
• Attend fun activities with my children such as soft play.

Desirable
I’d prefer if:
• You were female.
• You have previous experience.

I’d like support with
• Assisting with admin duties.
• Social activities with my children.
• Light domestic duties around the home.
• Helping to prepare a meal if needed.

I will need my PA to:
Respect and understand the importance of privacy and confidentiality.
Be confident, mature and have patience.
Be dependable and arrive on time.
Be friendly with an easy-going manner.
Be adaptable and flexible.
Be supportive but not take over.
Have business insurance on your car to take clients out.

Concerning the position

A trial period will be necessary in the first instance in the form of a six-month probationary period. Salary will be paid monthly (Annual leave is calculated on a pro rata basis). A DBS MUST be processed prior to any commencement of employment. Costs of DBS will be met by Swansea council where applicant is eligible.
