Summary
We at Riverside Care Home are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head cook to lead our team with passion and professionalism. The ideal candidate wilL ensure high standards of food safety, and maintain exceptional service quality within our care home. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the kitchen team to deliver outstanding food quality and presentation.
Oversee all aspects of food preparation, including meal planning, cooking, and plating.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across the kitchen.
Develop innovative menus considering seasonal ingredients and residents preferences.
Manage stock levels, order supplies, and control waste to optimise operational efficiency.
Train and mentor staff to uphold best practices in food handling and hygiene.
Monitor kitchen operations during to maintain high standards of efficiency and quality.
Experience
Proven experience in food preparation and cooking.
Strong background in kitchen management or supervisory positions.
Extensive knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and presentation skills.
Experience in menu development and inventory management is desirable.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to lead a team effectively under pressure.
