Summary



NRL is currently recruiting for a Industrial Safety Advisor to join one of our leading clients in their Nuclear Power Engineering and Technical Services team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a high-performing project team within a critical sector, supporting the delivery of complex engineering works on a key site within the UK’s nuclear fleet.



Role- Industrial Safety Advisor

Location- Bristol

Salary- £68,000 per annum



- Developing industrial safety management system processes comprising the CommOps Industrial Safety Management System (ISMS).
- Participating in the development of the industrial safety training programme comprising of topic specific training.
- Providing subject matter input to the training team to ensure that the organisation for the operational site is adequately trained on fire protection topics and processes.
- Developing and maintaining an effective collaborative working relationship with the HPC construction site and Nuclear Generation industrial safety teams.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of emergency preparedness and response arrangements.
- Coordinating the delivery of statutory assessments with cross functional input from relevant teams.

- Support the creation an industrial safety culture for the CommOps Organisation.


Qualifications

- A degree / Masters qualification in a science related topic
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in OH&S Management with responsibility for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety management systems within an industrial or similar setting.
- Detailed understanding of OH&S Safety Legislation (e.g. Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 (HSWA), Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 (MHSWR), Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER), Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER)) and codes of practice and the ability to interpret applicability to a range of different operating conditions and contexts.
- Hold an appropriate qualification e.g., H&S Diploma (NEBOSH) and current membership of IOSH.
- Experience carrying out and reviewing Risk Assessment (RAs) within a range of different operating environments.
- Ability to communicate clearly at all levels of the organisation, both verbally and through written reports.
- Experience with ISO45001
