Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
The role:
North Shore Academy is looking for a business manager to join our senior leadership team. This isn't just a desk job; it is a vital leadership role that keeps the academy running safely, efficiently, and effectively. This academy has an Ofsted of “Outstanding” and requires an individual who is capable of driving improvements and raising standards.
The role encompasses a wide range of activities, and no two days are the same. As a senior member of the support staff team, you will have operational responsibility for a broad portfolio of non-teaching functions, including (but not limited to) financial transactional operations, human resources, estates and facilities, health and safety, data protection and compliance. Working closely with the principal and other executive leaders, you will ensure that business operations are efficient, compliant and aligned with the trust’s strategic priorities, enabling leaders and teachers to focus on the quality of education and student outcomes. You will line manage a portfolio of support staff and will act as the academy lead for data protection and compliance.
This role is for you if:
• You hold (or are willing to work towards) a school business management qualification or equivalent.
• You have substantial experience in administration, HR, or facilities management.
• You are tech-savvy and know how to use data to make decisions.
• You are a clear communicator who can handle sensitive situations with professionalism.
• You want a career with purpose and are passionate about making a difference to children’s lives.
What the school offers its staff
Northern Education Trust offers:
• The opportunity to work and progress across the family of schools, should you wish in the future;
• The chance to apply for leadership roles in the Deeps structure taking on a whole school leadership project;
• A full and detailed programme of support and development for all;
• A further comprehensive programme of professional development, including leadership, provided through the NET Staff College.
Employee benefits:
• Free flu vaccinations
• Free onsite parking
Commitment to safeguarding
In accordance with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2023, an online search will be completed on all shortlisted applicants prior to interview. Any relevant information will be discussed further with the applicant during the interview process. The Trust is committed to safer recruitment practice and pre-employment checks will be undertaken before any appointment is confirmed. All posts are subject to enhanced disclosure and barring service checks. We expect all adults to share our commitment to safeguarding and the health and wellbeing of our pupils.
