Summary

​Equans is looking for a General Manager to join our team at The University of West London in London a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, car allowance, bonus and benefits package. The general manager will deliver the operational support to staff and line management support to direct report staff in line with the current structure to enable staff, to deliver their budgets, business plan, the corporate objectives, contract growth, retention, contract and statutory compliance and customer satisfaction. To effectively manage and develop all services within the site, using standards set by the Company and service contract for clients, staff, students and visitors alike. To contribute to the contract by maintaining a close liaison with the client to ensure day-to-day and future requirements of delivering the contract are met. To be responsible for contractual performance in accordance with agreed budgets, compliance (legislation, PMS and contractual) and continually drive for improvement and cost efficiencies.The ideal candidate will have previous experience within the FM industry in a similar senior position, ideally soft FM. Excellent team management and delegating skills, stakeholder management and communication skills. What will you deliver?To deliver, at all times, high quality hard and soft FM services as specified within the contract by applying professional expertise and management along with compliance against the contract thus ensuring added value, increased productivity, and cost efficienciesTo formulate in conjunction with company management and the client, suitable strategies to meet the demands of service provision and ongoing innovation / improvement and additional work / variations to enhance business and revenue growthTo exercise financial and commercial controls in the management of expenditure and income within agreed budgets. To maximise profitability of operations and deliver ongoing cost savingsTo produce an overall contract budget and be responsible for actual performance against budget and to take remedial action when applicableIn liaison with the procurement department to cost effectively manage business with all suppliers in order to achieve best value for money and develop supply relationshipsTo implement and maintain the contract performance monitoring system, remaining accountable for the monthly performanceTo support all managers in effectively managing relationships with all suppliers in order to achieve best value for money and develop effective regional/coproprate supply chainsTo be involved in business development activities for the contract / local area and company as a wholeTo promote the highest standards of customer care and to monitor the quality of all services provided to customersTo achieve a safe environment and practices for clients, staff, students and others while on the site premises, ensuring compliance with company and legislative requirements, including all health & safety requirements and permits to work proceduresTo recruit, select, motivate and develop staff to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and customer serviceTo define, set and monitor the objectives for the contract and each of the management team ensuring their maximum contribution to the businessTo develop good communication and relationships at all levels within the team and with all colleagues and customersTo ensure the appraisal of the performance of all staff and provide relevant training and development to achieve the highest standards of personal contribution. This shall form part of succession plan owned by this roleBeing part of the facilities management contract team, ensuring the successful mobilisation/stabilisation of all hard and soft FM services involved in the contract What can we offer you?
