Summary

Would you like to be part of an expanding SEND provision for students with Additional Educational Needs?
We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to work 27.5 hours per week, during term time, plus 3 INSET days, Monday to Friday, 8:30-3:00 with an hours break (unpaid)
This post is a one year maternity cover but may end sooner should the postholder return early.
Grade 14 - (Points 4-6), Salary £25,185 - £25,989 FTE; Actual starting salary £15,864

We are offering an exciting opportunity and are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Learning Support Assistant to join our SEND team. The successful candidate will support two EHCP pupils within a Year 8 class and offer intervention sessions when required.
We are looking for the candidate to have:    
Experience of working with children with a range of SEND
An understanding of the national curriculum framework and know how to adapt activities to suit the needs of the learner
A good understanding of how to modify and adapt the school day to meet the needs of an individual child
An ability to be flexible, positive and good humoured; proactively seeking creative ways of meeting children’s needs
Good levels of written and spoken English
Excellent interpersonal skills
The successful candidate will be required to:
Support two EHCP pupils within a Year 8 class and offer intervention sessions when requiredSupport teachers to differentiate class work where required
Give clear and effective support to secure pupil progress whilst assessing the development
Progress the attainment of pupils
Provide assessment feedback to teachers
Use IT systems to record student progress and contribute to reviewing of student educational healthcare plans where appropriate
