Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust provides comprehensive mental health and learning disability services to the population of Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull. The South Warwickshire Community Learning Disability Team (CLDT) provides support to adults with a learning disability and their families/carers, and staff teams across South Warwickshire.

We are a multi-disciplinary Community Learning Disability Team consisting of Psychology, Nursing, Psychiatry, Art Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy.

Within Psychology, we offer specialist assessment, formulation and intervention, including neuropsychological assessments, attachment and trauma informed work, systemic/family work and Positive Behaviour Support. We also offer group work and specialist MDT working linked with the STOMP agenda.

There is strong multi-disciplinary working within the team. Successful applicants will receive excellent support and regular, good quality supervision and opportunities for continuing professional development.

Within the role, you will provide support to psychological services and the wider CLDT in the form of assessment, formulation, intervention, and evaluation.







The post holder will be working within a multi-disciplinary team settingsin a Community Learning Disability Services.



At times the post holder will be required to work independently

· To undertake psychological assessments with service users under the guidance of a qualified psychologist.

· To assist in the formulation and delivery of care and treatment plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a service user’s problem, under the supervision of a qualified psychologist.

· To write letters and reports following assessments under the guidance of a qualified psychologist.

· To maintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping in accordance with professional codes of practice of the British Psychological Society & Trust policies and procedures.

· To carry out individual and group based psychological/therapeutic interventions with service users under the guidance of a qualified psychologist.

· To create materials to support the work of others in the team and the wider service (e.g. service user booklets, group materials/resources).

· To carry out or contribute to service evaluations, research projects and audits

· To undertake literature reviews for the service

· Towork independently, reliably and consistently to a high standard and to be responsible for managing their own caseload and prioritising daily tasks, with work agreed and managed at regular intervals.

· To support the systematic provision of a high quality specialist Psychology service to people with learning disabilities and behavioural/mental health difficulties, and their families – including assessment, formulation, intervention and evaluation.

· To work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary colleagues within the team and multi-agency colleagues external to the team to achieve the best outcomes for people with a learning disability and those who support them.

· To utilise research skills to support audit, evaluation and service development.

· To work within the professional guidelines and overall framework of the Trust and teams policies and procedures

· To assist in the quality and activity monitoring systems

· To adhere to the lone worker policy
