The Whittan Group is the largest manufacturer of steel storage products in the United Kingdom. Operating through a number of
market leading brands; we design, manufacture and install storage solutions for commercial and industrial environments in the UK
and Europe.
We are looking for a dynamic, results-driven professional ready to take charge of their career and make an impact as a Business
Development Manager. The BDM – Lockers Sales is responsible for driving sustainable sales growth for the Lockers division by
identifying, developing and securing new business opportunities while strengthening relationships with existing customers. The
role is responsible for managing the full sales cycle, positioning our locker solutions effectively within the market and
contributing to the long-term commercial success of the business.
Key responsibilities:
* Develop, nurture and expand relationships with both existing and new customers.
* Identify and target new business opportunities to drive sales growth.
* Manage the full sales cycle from initial prospecting through to contract negotiation and deal closure.
* Deliver persuasive presentations, proposals and product demonstrations to stakeholders at all organisational levels, including
C-suite.
* Maintain a strong understanding of product features, benefits and differentiators to clearly articulate value propositions.
* Effectively position products against competitor offerings and respond to customer needs with tailored solutions.
* Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and high customer satisfaction.
* Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer behaviour to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
* Prepare accurate sales forecasts, activity reports and customer insights for the Head of Lockers Sales.
Required experience/skills/qualifications:
* Proven sales executive or BDM experience with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
* Demonstrable ability to drive the sales process from planning through to close.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
* Strong negotiation, listening and presentation skills.
* Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services and confidently position them within the market.
* Strong people skills with the ability to build trust and long-term relationships.
* Fully IT-literate, with the ability to use CRM systems and sales related tools effectively.
* Driven, self-motivated and results-oriented, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Commercially astute and contractually aware.
* Naturally inquisitive, creative and innovative, always seeking new ways to add value.
