Summary

Are you a creative digital storyteller with a knack for data? We’re looking for an enthusiastic Digital Communications Officer to join our Communications Team.

We’re looking for someone to join our busy team with a proven track record in planning, creating and delivering digital communications, whilst using analytical tools to adjust campaigns for maximum engagement.

Working with other members of the Communications Team, the successful candidate will use a range of digital tools and platforms to reach residents, businesses, and partners, supporting the Council’s strategic objectives and enhancing its reputation.

Maintaining and growing the Council’s social media presence whilst segmenting audiences and tailoring messages to improve open and click-through rates. Responding to media enquiries to protect and enhance the Council’s reputation as part of the wider Communications Team and supporting crisis and emergency communications as required.

Specific duties will include:

Planning, creating and delivering targeted digital communications and engagement campaigns across the Council’s social media, email and web platforms. Developing content aligned with the Council’s priorities, events and campaigns. Using analytical tools such as Google Analytics and Meta insights to monitor campaign performance, feeding into departmental KPIS and adjusting strategies for maximum engagement.

Writing, editing and publishing high quality content that is clear, accessible and aligned with the Council’s tone of voice. Producing engaging multimedia content including graphics, video and photography. You will also lead on web accessibility for the Council, including designing and delivering training to colleagues and monitoring and actioning any accessibility issues to ensure all can access Council services and communications.
