Summary

Our client, a brand new special needs school in Crawley, West Sussex, is seeking a SEN/SEMH (Special Educational Needs/Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Teacher to join their dynamic team. This is a full-time role with a competitive salary ranging from £37,869.52 to £50,474, depending on experience.

As an SEN/SEMH Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs. Your primary focus will be on providing tailored educational support, developing individualised learning plans, and implementing evidence-based strategies to address the social, emotional, and behavioural challenges faced by your students.

The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of SEN/SEMH teaching methodologies, a passion for working with neurodiverse learners, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will be adept at using technology to enhance the learning experience and will have a track record of delivering positive outcomes for your students.

Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing individualised learning plans for students with SEN/SEMH needs
- Providing differentiated instruction and support to ensure the academic, social, and emotional progress of each student
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals, to deliver a holistic approach to student support
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting teaching strategies accordingly
- Maintaining detailed records and contributing to the school's reporting and assessment processes
- Participating in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge

Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent desiered
- Significant experience working with students with SEN/SEMH needs
- Strong understanding of SEN/SEMH teaching methodologies and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Proficiency in using technology to support teaching and learning
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field of SEN/SEMH education
