Summary

Our client, a highly regarded educational institution in Cardiff, South Glamorgan, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Part Time SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to join their dynamic team. As a Part Time SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with our client's talented teaching staff, contributing to the delivery of a comprehensive and enriching educational programme. Your role will involve providing targeted support to students with social, emotional, and mental health challenges, empowering them to overcome barriers and achieve their full potential.

In this rewarding position, you will utilise your expertise in creating a nurturing and supportive learning atmosphere, where students feel safe, respected, and empowered to explore their unique strengths and talents. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting teachers in the planning and delivery of lessons, ensuring that the unique needs of SEMH students are met
- Providing one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them to develop coping strategies, self-regulation skills, and a positive self-image
- Collaborating with the wider team of educators, counsellors, and support staff to implement effective, evidence-based interventions that address the social, emotional, and mental health needs of students
- Maintaining detailed records of student progress and contributing to the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of support strategies
- Fostering positive relationships with students, families, and the broader school community, acting as a trusted advocate and resource
- Participating in relevant training and professional development opportunities to continually enhance your expertise and stay up-to-date with best practices in SEMH support
