A high‑performing, modern secondary school in the heart of Acton is seeking reliable, professional and confident Exam Invigilators to support the upcoming exam season. The school is known for its strong academic culture, excellent behaviour, and commitment to ensuring every student has the best possible exam experience.
We are encouraging early applications, as the main exam period runs from May to July, with training and induction taking place beforehand.
Role Overview
As an Exam Invigilator, you will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity and smooth running of internal and external examinations. You will ensure that all exam procedures are followed in line with JCQ regulations and school policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare exam rooms, ensuring correct materials, seating plans and signage are in place.
- Supervise students during examinations, maintaining a calm, supportive and controlled environment.
- Distribute and collect exam papers, ensuring secure handling at all times.
- Complete required documentation, including scribing for students with access arrangements when needed.
- Ensure exam conditions are upheld, addressing any irregularities in line with school and JCQ guidelines.
- Assist with timing, monitoring and general invigilation duties throughout the exam session.
- Provide clear instructions to students and support them in following exam protocols.
- Work collaboratively with the Exams Officer and wider invigilation team.
Requirements
- Previous exam invigilation experience is highly desirable.
- A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent attention to detail and reliability.
- Professionalism, punctuality and the ability to follow strict procedures.
- Flexibility to work across various exam sessions between May and July.
