Summary

1 year fixed-term position to cover maternity leave.
The Domestic Abuse Project (DAP) is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join the team. The aim of the service is to provide support and advocacy to victims / survivors of domestic abuse.
Your primary role will be to provide victim lead trauma informed strength based support and advocacy to victims / survivors referred to the service.
You must have previous experience of direct work with victims / survivors affected by domestic abuse or safeguarding adults or children. Demonstrate an ability to work with victims / survivors in a empowering and supportive way. Have an awareness and understanding of the Duluth power and control methodologies, power differentials and inequalities between men and women and the effects that domestic abuse has on victims / survivors and their children. Have effective communication, organisational skills and the ability to work using your own initiative and in partnership with other agencies. Have an informed understanding of safeguarding children and adults is essential.
