About The Orchard:

Orchard is a large two-storey house. The house has six bedrooms over two floors with an additional two flats within the building providing accommodation to a further three people.

We support nine people whose ages range from twenties to seventies. They have moderate to severe learning disabilities, autism and some additional needs of epilepsy and mental health.



Your Role at Norwood:

As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in empowering individuals with learning disabilities and autism to lead independent and fulfilling lives. Your responsibilities will include:

Work as part of a team to provide individualised and personalised support to adults with a learning disability, in particular with personal care needs in retiring and rising as required. To monitor service users throughout the night in accordance with the individual assessed needs, support plan, risk assessments or instructions from the Manager.
To be aware of service users health and medical needs and report to a manager or on call staff should there be any change in a resident’s condition
Performing cleaning duties for example vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, kitchen and all areas to ensure that the home maintains safe, clean environment for those living and working in it, complying with health and safety requirements.
Work safely, ensuring contractual and regulatory compliance so the people we support feel safe. Raise appropriate and important issues or concerns in a timely manner. To complete health and safety checks at night and take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and that of others.
To establish good relationships with the people we support, and important people in their lives.
Working closely and in a professional manner with other professionals both inside and outside of the organisation. i.e medical professionals.
To complete required records and maintain information, in line with GDPR policy and procedure.
To carry out administration of Medication (after appropriate training).


The night support is a sleep-in shift and a waking night. The sleep-in time is Mondays and Fridays from 22:00 – 07:00 and waking
