We are seeking a Food Services Dietitian to support one of our acute healthcare facilities in the UK.
This role is ideal for a registered dietitian who is passionate about nutrition, committed to service excellence, and motivated to positively influence patient care.
Oncology experience is preferred but not essential.
Job Description
We are looking for someone who will work closely with our on-site Catering Managers to ensure menus meet clinical and dietary requirements.
The successful candidate will support staff training, maintain high compliance standards, and contribute to continuous improvements across the patient food service. Training in food services can be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with catering and dietetic teams across sites to deliver safe, nutritious, and enjoyable meals for all patients.
Develop and implement tailored menus, including support for special diets and allergen management.
Implement ISS patient food service and dietetic policies and procedures.
Support the creation and delivery of training content for catering and ward assistant staff, working with Trust dietitians and the ISS dietetic team.
Contribute to dietetic and nutrition team projects, including health promotion initiatives and product-related data gathering.
Provide updates at ISS dietetic and nutrition team meetings, reporting on key actions, issues, and successes.
Support patient engagement activities such as Nutrition & Hydration Week and themed food events.
Maintain accurate documentation, support audits, and participate in continuous service improvement activities.
Maintain ongoing professional development and a CPD portfolio as required for HCPC audits.
Undertake any other duties relevant to ISS Dietetics and Nutrition.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
Degree in Dietetics, or relevant degree with a Postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics.
HCPC Registered Dietitian.
Food Safety qualification at a minimum of Level 3 (training can be provided).
Membership of the British Dietetic Association.
Experience in a food service or catering environment.
Oncology-focused clinical experience.
Awareness of challenges specific to the hospital environment.
Understanding of cultural diversity in cooking and eating practices among service users.
Other Skills
Menu planning, nutritional analysis, and dietary coding.
Teaching and presentation skills.
Project management capabilities.
